The vertex of a parabola is the turning point, the maximum or minimum of the graph.

The x-coordinate of the vertex is given by the formula:

x=frac{-b}{2*a}

You can find the y-coordinate of the vertex by substituting the value of x into the quadratic function, or you can use the following formula:

y=frac{-D}{4*a}

Where D is the discriminant given by:

D=b^2-4*a*c
